Jonathan Horowitz has been a finalist for an Emmy Award for “Sports Play-by-Play” in the Heartland region in 2016 and 2017. He began announcing professionally at age 14 when he became the youngest person ever to announce a horse race in the United States at Los Alamitos Race Course in California in 1999.
Now based in Colorado, Horowitz does play-by-play announcing for basketball, football, lacrosse, and soccer for The Denver Post’s “Post Preps Radio” and PrepSpotlight.tv and public address announcing for basketball, football, gymnastics, track, and volleyball for the University of Denver and Aurora Public Schools. He has commentated horse races at 28 racetracks in the United States, Great Britain, Spain, and Sweden, as well as horse shows throughout the United States. Horowitz also travels around the world to cover the behind-the-scenes of horse races for the Arabian Jockey Club and Sheikh Mansoor Festival through Facebook Live broadcasts.
